Located south of Naples in the Gulf of Mexico, Marco is the last resort area on the southwest Florida coast before the Keys. This small island is big enough to support several businesses, and residents use cars to get about, but the sea is never more than a short distance from any condo. Vacation condo renters on Marco Island focus more on the beach, of course, and all it offers: watersports, fishing, tanning, swimming, boating and nightly sunsets. Marco Island condos facing west are surely the most prized of all, as watching sunset is an island tradition.
Marco Island’s unique location also gives condo residents easy access to Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports – just across the state on I-75 – as well as Regional Southwest in Fort Myers and the small Naples airport. Many condo owners in Marco Island reside in their units during the winter months, arriving by car from northern homes. The best reason to own a Marco Island condo might well be the winter temperatures, which are in the 70s during the day and 60s at night.
